Avocado Kuli Paniyaram

This month's Tried & Tasted event features Taste of Pearl City. This event was started by Zlamushka and is now organized by Lakshmi of Kitchen Chronicles
Ayeesha of Taste of Pearl City is a ingenious blogger whose site features many marvelous recipes. I particularly love her presentation.
This month's Tried and Tasted event is hosted by my best friend Denny of OhTastenSee. Denny is a versatile blogger and she cooks international recipes ranging from Gulabi french toast to Syrniki and from Kathirikkai kothsu to Pasta Ponza. She can cook a full three course meal for a crowd in no time with ease.
I tried Avocado Kuli Paniyaram from Umm Mymoonah's Taste of Pearl City.

Ingredients:
Makes - about 20 paniyarams
Urad dhal - 1 cup
Raw rice - 1 tbsp
Avocado - 1 - seeded and scooped.
Onion - chopped - 1 cup
Green chillies - 2 slit
Salt to taste
Oil - for frying

Method:
Wash and Soak Urad dhal and rice together for 2 hrs. Grind it to a smooth paste adding little water, the batter should not be too watery. Puree the avocado and add it to the batter with salt. Heat 1 tsp of oil in a kadai and add the mustard seeds. When it splutters add the green chillies and the chopped onion. Saute for 2 mins and transfer this to the batter. Heat a paniyaram pan or a ebelskiver pan and add 1/2 tsp of oil to the rounds and drop the batter 3/4th full. When you feel the paniyarams are lightly crisp at the bottom, use a skewer to flip it and cook until crispy. Repeat with the remaining batter and serve hot with chutney of your choice. Check out some of my chutney recipes.

I am sending this to 'Tried & Tasted event'.

I am also sending this to 'A for Appetizers' event by Charitha.
