Tiramisu Trifle (serves 8)


Ingredients
  • Sponge cake of 4 eggs
  • Cream cheese 500 gm
  • Cream 200 gm
  • Caster sugar ½ cup
  • Eggs 3 separated
  • Vanilla essence ½ tsp
  • Coffee 3 tbsp leveled
  • Water 1 cup
  • Caster sugar extra 3 tbsp
  • Coco powder 2 tbsp
Method
  • In a bowl add 500gm cream cheese and beat well with electric beater with ¼ cup ½ cup caster sugar add in 3 egg yolks and ½ tsp vanilla essence; continue to beat for 5 minutes also fold in the 200gm whipped cream, beat 3 egg whites stiff with remaining caster sugar and fold in the cheese mixture. Combine 3 tbsp coffee, 1 cup water, and extra caster sugar and keep aside.
To assemble
  • In a trifle bowl place sponge cake cut into pieces, sprinkle with coffee mixture, spread 1/3 of cheese mixture, repeat layering twice more with sponge cake, coffee mixture, coco powder and cheese mixture, sprinkle top with coco powder, refrigerate for few hours till chilled, decorate with extra whipped cream and chocolate decoration.
