Jam Doughnuts
Ingredients
- Flour 3 ¾ cup
- Instant yeast 2 tbsp
- Caster sugar 3 tbsp
- Oil ½ cup
- Eggs 2 lightly beaten
- Powder milk 4 tbsp
- Warm water as required
- Strawberry jam ½ cup
- Oil for deep frying
- Caster sugar ½ cup extra
- Mix together in a bowl, flour, yeast, sugar, beaten eggs, melted butter and knead into a soft dough with warm water, cover stand in warm place about 1 hr, until dough double in size, turn dough into a flat surface, knead dough for 5 min until smooth, roll dough into 1 cm thickness, cut into rounds with 2 inch cutter place a tsp of strawberry jam on half the rounds top with reaming rounds press edges together with fingers, place round on greased oven tray cover leave for 20 min until doubled in size, press edges again if necessary, deep fry doughnuts until golden brown, drain on paper, tossed in extra sugar.
