Mulligatawny soup
Ingredients
- Onions chopped 2 tbsp
- Butter 2 tbsp
- Gram flour roasted 4 tbsp heaped
- Chili powder 1 tsp
- Tomato 1 finely chopped
- Salt 1 tsp
- Bay leaf 1
- Curry leaves 15
- Vinegar ¼ cup
- Ginger garlic ½ tsp heaped
- Turmeric 1 tsp
- Stock 4 cups
- Lemon juice 1 tbsp
Method
- Heat butter, fry onion light golden add ginger garlic paste with chopped tomatoes and fry well, add vinegar, chili powder, turmeric, salt, bay leaf, add stock and curry leaves, make paste with gram flour and little water add to the soup stirring continuously, let the soup cook till the right consistency, remove from fire add lemon juice, strain the soup, before serving put few pieces of boiled shredded chicken, 4 tbsp boiled rice, pour soup over it, serve hot with lemon slices
